IL Vecchio Leccio is southwest of Florence. Whether you arrive from northern Italy (Milan) or south (Rome), you have to take the A1 motorway to Firenze (Florence) and exit at “Firenze Certosa”. After the paytoll there’s a roundabout: take the road on your right, which is the highway connecting Florence to Siena (blue sign to Siena). After about 20 km (15 miles) exit at “Poggibonsi Nord” (the 5th exit on the way to Siena) and then keep following the signs to “Certaldo”. When you’ll get to Certaldo (after about 12 km) you’ll see a Shell petrol station on your righthand side: go straight. From the traffic light, go on for others 200 metres, than you’ll find a crossroad by a small bridge with a bar called “Metello” on the right corner: turn right and go straight down “Via Fiorentina” road. Then follow the blue signs to “Tavarnelle Val di Pesa” or “Fiano” and when you find a small bridge on a bend with metal guard-rails, be carefull: after few metres there’s a blue sign on the left to “Mugnano”. Follow it and then turn first right towards "Bacio". After about 1,3 km you will see a private not asphalted street going uphill on your left hand side. Take it and…there you are! Il Vecchio Leccio is the first house on the right, at number 95, with the big green gate.
